It all started in 1985 when Rosa and Miguel Flores parked their first food truck on the corner of 6th and Lamar in Austin, Texas. With a griddle, a stack of handmade tortillas, and recipes passed down from Rosa’s grandmother in Oaxaca, they served their first plate of tacos to a line of hungry Austinites.
Four decades later, the Flores family tradition lives on. Every tortilla is still pressed by hand. The salsa verde is still made from the same recipe card, stained with lime juice and time. And the carnitas still braise for eight hours until they’re impossibly tender.
We’re proud to be part of Austin’s food culture, and we can’t wait to share our family’s flavors with yours.
